AHPRA requires applicants for registration to meet the English language skills registration standard. The requirements can apply even if you have lived or studied in Australia, depending on your education history and the country where your education was completed.
If you have completed your secondary or tertiary education in English, you may be able to meet the standard through the recognised English-language pathway. However, the country in which your education was undertaken and the duration of your studies are relevant, so you should check the current requirements carefully rather than assume that studying in English will automatically satisfy the standard.

Students undertaking a psychology placement must hold the appropriate AHPRA registration before commencing placement activities where registration is required.
If you are unable to obtain provisional registration by the census date of your first active placement unit (see: What is the Census Date?), your enrolment and ability to undertake placement may be subject to review.
Depending on the circumstances, this may involve a progress review meeting before any decision is made about your enrolment (see also: Academic Progress and Progress Review Hearings).
You must not commence or undertake a psychology placement while you do not hold the registration required for that placement. If your registration is delayed, you should contact Student Services and your Course Coordinator as soon as possible to discuss your circumstances and available options.
Once you have resolved the registration issue and meet all relevant course and placement requirements, you may be able to return to your studies or placement, subject to approval and availability.
