Yes, all students who are eligible to graduate will need to apply.
Students who may be eligible to graduate will receive communication directly from Cairnmillar through email, student newsletters and from your course teams. The graduation information, including the date of any ceremonies, for that graduation period will also be posted on myCMI here: Graduation. Students will be directed to the application form to apply.
When you apply to graduate, you’ll need to decide if you’d like to:

Attend the graduation ceremony (held in May only).
OR;

Graduate in absentia, choosing one of the following options:

collect your graduation pack from campus

have your graduation pack posted to you

What will happen if I don’t apply to graduate?
If you don’t apply to graduate, you won’t receive your graduation pack when your degree is conferred. Your graduation pack will include hard copies of your:

Testamur (award certificate)

Academic Transcript
-
Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS)
You can request these documents at any time, at any point, even after you have finished at Cairnmillar. You will need to complete an online order form to do so and there are additional costs incurred by you.
Ensure your name is correct on your student record
When you graduate, your full legal name is printed on all of your graduation documents including your Testamur (award certificate) and your academic transcript. Cairnmillar uses the full legal name that is associated with your Paradigm student record, based off your identity documents you gave us when you were first accepted into your course.
If your full legal name has changed, you must tell us and provide the right evidence so that we can update it for you. We have no other way of knowing when or if your legal name changes throughout your enrolment with us.
It is illegal to use any other name/s on your graduation documents other than your full legal name as it stands printed on your identity documents. We cannot print preferred names or nicknames. If your name is hyphenated on your identity documents, without proof of change, we cannot remove the hyphen in your name if you request us to. If your last name has changed (i.e., from marriage) then you can supply us with a marriage certificate or name change certificate.
