Australian Psychological Society (APS) Student Memberships

You can join as an APS Student Subscriber if you are enrolled in an APAC-accredited course or a postgraduate research degree in psychology. For more information, please refer to Student Subscriber | APS

Enrolment Evidence for APS Student Members

You can provide proof of enrolment in the following ways:

an electronic screen shot of your student online portal, or;
a signed letter of confirmation from the higher education provider, or
a summary of enrolment stamped and signed by the higher education provider, or enrolment advice and fee help liability.

APS Membership Types

The Australian Psychological Society (APS) offers different membership grades depending on your stage of psychology study, qualifications and professional status. Eligibility can depend on the specific course or pathway you are undertaking.

Honours and GradDipPsychSci students

Students undertaking an APAC-accredited fourth-year psychology program, such as an Honours or Graduate Diploma in Psychology, may be eligible for APS Student Subscriber membership. Eligibility should be confirmed with the APS based on your specific course.

MPP, MPsych(Clinical) and DPsych(Clinical) students

Students enrolled in an APAC-accredited postgraduate psychology program, including eligible Masters and Doctorate programs, may be eligible for APS Student Subscriber membership. The APS specifically identifies students enrolled in APAC-accredited postgraduate psychology programs as eligible for student membership.

MClinPsych(Postreg) students

Students enrolled in the Master of Clinical Psychology (Post Registration) should check their eligibility directly with the APS, particularly if they are already registered psychologists.

APS membership and registration as a psychologist are separate processes, and being registered as a psychologist does not automatically prevent you from holding APS membership. The appropriate membership grade will depend on your qualifications and professional status.
