The Academic Calendar is published by no later than June the year prior. It tells you the start and end of the semesters (each semester is 2 x 6 week teaching terms for 12 weeks total teaching, plus breaks and exam periods), the dates for the mid-semester break (break between teaching terms in the middle of the semester), inter-semester break (break between the two semesters) and the study/exam weeks for the semester.
Remember: the Census Date is the last date to withdraw from a unit without academic or financial penalty. Payment due dates and graduation dates are also published as part of the Academic Calendar.
The Class Timetable is published before January of the relevant year but is subject to change until the first week of teaching each semester. The Class Timetable tells you what day of the week and what time specific classes will be held during that semester. It normally only lists the unit codes and does not include things like thesis or placement which will vary from student to student.
Note: placement and thesis work may be required outside of teaching time for many courses
