Orientation

Course-Orientation Day

Your Course Orientation is an essential introduction to your course, providing you with key information, resources, a chance to meet your teachers, course coordinator and fellow peers and explore your new learning environment. When students start at CMI, it is expected that they attend their course orientation day.

Course Orientation Day is usually held on a specific date during Week 0 (1 week before you start classes). Students will attend on campus or online, depending on their mode of study. It is usually a half-day event. Each course has their own specific start and end time to the event, as well as their own date.

International Student Orientation

International student orientation session will provide essential information, a chance to meet other international peers and an early opportunity to help with unique issues that are sometimes experienced by international students.  Attendance at this session is mandatory for all international students, and it has been specifically designed to address international student orientation and wellbeing, and ensure a smooth and positive transition to your studies.

International student orientation for 2027 will be announced soon.

Orientation Modules on Canvas

In addition to being orientated to your course, we’ll also make sure you’re orientated to being a student at Cairnmillar. These orientation modules are for everything else outside of your course. They are self-paced and can be worked through at any time. It is essential that new students complete these modules before they start their first semester.

Orientation Modules are accessed through the special, CMI Student Information Canvas Page. See: CMI Student Information on Canvas
