There is no universal maximum or minimum Turnitin Similarity score that applies to all assignments. The appropriate Similarity score will vary depending on the type of assessment, the subject, and the requirements set by your teaching staff.
For example, a literature review may naturally contain more matched text from published sources than an original case report. A higher Similarity score does not necessarily mean that an assignment contains plagiarism, just as a low Similarity score does not necessarily mean that an assignment is appropriately referenced.
Your teaching staff will review the matched content to determine whether sources have been appropriately used and acknowledged. If you are unsure whether a particular Similarity score is acceptable for your assessment, contact your lecturer or Course Coordinator for guidance.
Remember to cite and reference your sources correctly. Any material taken from another source must be appropriately acknowledged in accordance with the referencing requirements for your course. Plagiarism and unacknowledged quotations or other copied material are not acceptable.
