Best practice – Supervisor creates blank survey and shares it
We recommend that supervisors initially create and name the survey and then share it with the student(s) using the Collaborate function:
Students can then develop the survey as required. Because the supervisor (as primary researcher) initially creates the survey, they retain ownership of the project and can control collaborators’ access, including access to survey data. This is particularly important because supervisors will be listed as the primary researcher on the HREC approval.
Creating an Account
Students who need a Qualtrics account can self-enrol using the instructions below:
- Navigate to: https://cairnmillar.au1.qualtrics.com/
- Click “Don’t have an account?”
- Enter your email address and the access code: wCTvi
- Click “Sign me up” to create your account.
Follow the prompts regarding minimum password requirements.
Two-factor authentication is required for Qualtrics. When you first log in, you will be prompted to configure a verification method. You may be offered email verification or an authenticator app.
If using Microsoft Authenticator:
- Select + → Other account → Scan QR code in the Authenticator app.
- Scan the QR code displayed by Qualtrics.
- Enter the six-digit code generated by the app when prompted.
