While we do our best to minimise overlap between public holidays and teaching times when planning the Academic Calendar and class timetable, clashes do sometimes occur.
If you have a timetabled class which would normally occur on a day which is a public holiday date please contact your teacher for the class to confirm what arrangements will be made to ensure you still cover all of the required content.
Arrangements made will depend on your lecturer’s teaching style, the size of the class, and the content you need to cover. Most teachers will assign online or video lectures, while some may organise a catch-up class or additional session (normally during the exam and study period or sitting in with another course or program stream in the same week, but sometimes at an newly agreed time for smaller classes). Please contact your teacher if you have any questions or concerns about the arrangements made.
Public holidays dates are highlighted on the Academic Calendar.
We use the Business Victoria (State Government) website to confirm public holidays. Due to the ‘roving’ nature of the September AFL holiday this cannot always be confirmed until a few weeks prior to the date. We suggest complaints or concerns about this are directed to the Victorian Government.
