The Cairnmillar Institute Library does not currently charge overdue fines or late fees.
However, there are special circumstances where a fine for fee may be charged to your library account, for example:
- If library resources are damaged while being utilised, for example, drinks being spilled on books. The Cairnmillar Institute Library may request a fee to be paid for the cost of repairing or replacing the item, as well as a non-refundable processing charge.
- If library resources are returned in a damaged condition, and they were not loaned out in that state. The Cairnmillar Institute Library may request a fee to be paid for the cost of repairing or replacing the item, as well as a non-refundable processing charge.
- If library resources are not returned, for example, lost while out on loan. The Cairnmillar Institute Library may request a fee to be paid for the cost of replacing the item, as well as a non-refundable processing charge.
- Outstanding fines or fees may result in a block being placed on your Library account.
Once signed into your Library card you will see if there are any fines or fees on your card by an exclamation mark symbol.

To view any fines or fees on your Library card click on FINE + FEES.

NOTE – Students may be unable to graduate if there are outstanding fines or fees on their Library card.
